ŽSD a.s. has been dealing with the recycling and restoration of required qualitative building material properties since its foundation in 1996.

The treated materials/wastes are:

• Rail bed ballast
• Demolition debris
• Bitumen debris
• Concrete etc.

The treatments are carried out by the crushing and sorting machinery that the company keeps supplementing and innovating. As the recycling equipment is mobile, it may be used where the building waste is produced. This saves a significant amount of money for material transport and storage.

Recyclates (final recycling products) are further used in the building industry as a replacement for natural aggregate.

Until now, ŽSD a.s. has processed more than 3 000 000 tons of materials or wastes that have been used for construction, which results in considerable saving. These activities minimize the negative impact on the environment (preservation of mineral resources, waste kept out of dumps, minimum transport). The financial saving of costs of work execution must not be omitted either.

Our partners use recycled materials as structural layers for construction. Where necessary, any recycling waste called undersize material may also be used, following qualitative property verification for embankments or utility line backfilling. Before re-using, all recycled materials are tested by an accredited building laboratory that determines whether they are suitable for further use and sets conditions for their further processing.
