ŽSD History

ŽSD a. s. is a medium-sized building company operating since 1996, and gradually extending its operations abroad. From the national point of view, ŽSD is a top player in dealing with waste management orders in construction. In addition, the company is active in the field of demolitions, building material recycling and dump reclamation.

Since 2003, ŽSD has been dealing with structural engineering, specifically industrial buildings, civil facilities and residential buildings. Thanks to its expertise, its technical equipment and the proficiency of its employees, the company has reached a high level of project management quality with a maximum emphasis on ecology and the environment. The company strives to constantly and continuously improve the satisfaction of its customers’ needs and wishes. The result is an open and fair approach not only to investors but also to all business partners.

The goal of ŽSD a.s. is to remain the waste management and recycling leader in the Czech Republic, and to actively develop this construction sector abroad. In addition, it wishes to broaden the structural engineering sector and to become a major player among medium-sized construction companies in the South Moravian Region, especially in Brno.

The proof of ŽSD a.s.’s success on the domestic market is the Best Building Company 2008 award. In the field of structural engineering, the company won two awards in the ‘Building of the South Moravian Region’ competition: 2nd place for the superstructure of a block of flats in Brno-Bystrc in 2006, and 1st place for the paint and blast shop for Dopravní podnik města Brna (Brno City public transport) in 2008.

The company has an implemented, maintained and certified integrated management system. ŽSD is a holder of ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and OHSAS 18001 Management System certificates. ŽSD also holds the Bureau of Mines license for mining activity and activity carried out through mining methods, the Certified Building Contractor System Certificate and the Certificate of competence for railway ballast recycling.

The company is also aware of its social responsibility and therefore supports various charity events centered in health care, culture and sports in the whole Czech Republic over the long term.
